Many companies, both large and small, support the goals of student planners and character education. If presented with the opportunity, most are willing to commit funds for your school/district to invest in the CHARACTER COUNTS! School Agendas in exchange for recognition in the form of an advertisement displayed on the back cover or insert page (printed on index card stock) bound in the agenda after the front cover or before the back cover. Alliance can also custom design a front cover cooperating the school name/mascot with the sponsor’s identity.

Your agenda consultant can guide you through the process.
Before meeting with a prospective sponsor, secure a custom agenda quote from your agenda consultant by phoning 1-800-518-5176 and selecting menu option #2.

All that is required to get the ball rolling is for you to make a phone call and set up a meeting with a management-level decision maker. Once face-to-face with the decision maker, acknowledge your school’s/district's complete commitment to the use of the CHARACTER COUNTS! School Agenda and demonstrate the importance of this educational tool as it relates to the implementation or support of your character education program. Remember to emphasize the planner’s significance in cultivating life-long organizational skills and helping parents stay involved in their children's education. Be sure to also point out that the parent or guardian must sign the book each night and that the agenda is a requirement for all students. The merchant must know the books will be used.

Most importantly, stress the advertising benefits.
Because the CHARACTER COUNTS! School Agenda is used by students, parents, and teachers on a daily basis, the sponsor’s message is delivered to the heart of the community (families with kids) consistently for the entire 40+ weeks of the school year. Participating as a sponsor of the CHARACTER COUNTS! School Agenda also strengthens the sponsor’s community image by supporting a program and publication designed to help students achieve academic success, social tolerance, acceptance of others, higher ethical standards, and greater self-esteem.

Who would be a good sponsored prospect? Almost anyone, but especially a parent/PTA member who is also a business owner or manager.

Here are a few examples of the types of businesses that would be a good match for sponsorship:
Banks/Credit Unions • Fast Food Chains • Car Dealers • Karate/Dance Schools • Contractors • Ice Cream Parlors • Restaurants • Radio Stations • Malls • Real Estate Firms • Financial Brokers ...and Many More

Preferred 100 Percent or 50 Percent Approach
First determine the cost of your entire custom agenda order with all options and shipping. Your agenda consultant will be happy to provide you with a quote. At your meeting with your prospective sponsor, request the sponsor pay all or half in exchange for his/her business to be showcased on the back cover. Emphasize the unit cost per family for the entire school year (unit cost = agenda cost). You may find more than one sponsor and split the cost accordingly. Most businesses will see this as a valuable and unique opportunity to help your school/school district and benefit greatly by showcasing their products and services to a family market for the entire school year.
