When Comparing Agendas, Consider This: |
The CHARACTER COUNTS! School Agendas are designed to inspire your students and staff, while serving as a necessary connection between the classroom and home. Our five levels of agendas (primary – college) feature weekly biographies of diversified contemporary and historical people who have made a difference in the world and serve as role models for all of us. These stories, along with corresponding character education lesson ideas, provide guidance to students on how to approach life choices and tackle difficult decisions.
The biographies and lesson ideas provide the foundation for classroom discussion about the “Six Pillars of Character:” trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship, and the numerous traits associated with them. These pillars and traits represent common human values we, as a society, hold in high regard.
Weekly exercises within each page layout are designed to create a forum for classroom discussion and encourage students to express their feelings and opinions. Ultimately, these open discussions create greater peer-to-peer understanding, which fosters a positive school climate centering on mutual respect and acceptance.
The proper use of these unique agendas will assist students in reaching their academic and human potential, while showing them their character really does count!
